Brown-Forman Sr Financial Analyst, Casa Herradura Production in Amatitán, Mexico

Directly responsible for the analysis and projection for the production variance, support for the budget expenses and Metrics (KPIs) for Casa Herradura Operations which includes Agave Farm Operations and Sourcing, Distillery, Warehousing, Processing, and Bottling/Canning Operations. Related brands include Herradura, El Jimador, Antiguo, Pepe Lopez and New Mix.

Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership and Analysis (50%)

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual closing functions and related analysis of production cost and variance from standard cost for the Casa Herradura process, (Field, Distillation, Aging, Process and Tequila and RTDs Bottlings) Provide and interpret analysis to the Assistant Controller and Controller, management team and Global Production Finance as needed.

  • Assist with developing and maintaining the annual operations budget for Casa Herradura production cost centers. Monitor monthly spending in relation to the budgets and alert operations and management of budget variances.

Controlling, Accounting and Compliance (25%)

  • Responsible for balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis for production operations. Responsible for periodic general ledger closing cycle and subsequent preparation of financial statements and related analyses to accurately reflect business activity based on US generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP).

  • Responsible for updating, analyzing and project the expenses and allocations on a monthly, Quarterly and Year basis.

  • Works collaboratively with the Brown-Forman Tequila Mexico commercial controlling area to ensure the accuracy and completeness of Mexico tax and statutory reporting. This includes compliance with external audits, providing analysis of cost variances, ensuring compliance with Payroll and Accounts Payable policies, and maintaining effective communication between the two controlling areas.

  • Formulate and prepare financial projections (Cash flow) for the commercial site and budgets.

  • Formulate and adjust Agave ICP (VAMA-BFTM) in Monthly basis and full year projection in quarterly basis.

  • Formulate INEGI and Accounting reports to support the balance sheet.

Operational Partnership.

  • Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all financial records, financial statements, as well as supporting management reports (KPIs).

  • Participates on project teams to drive operational efficiencies and process improvements. Quantification of the benefits of these initiatives through OEE calculation, or other financial and cost metrics.

  • Responsible for updating the spend and projection for the capital projects.

● Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or other Business-related discipline plus 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment including accounting management experience. Demonstrated proficiency in applying US GAAP principles.
