Brown-Forman Electrician in Edinburgh, United Kingdom

We are looking to hire an electrician to conduct electrical engineering operations in order to maintain efficient operation of the Newbridge site. You will also provide electrical support to the bottling lines.

Our shift pattern is 0730-1715, Monday to Thursday so this opportunity is ideal for someone wanting to work a 4 day week. We offer great benefits including private medical insurance, dental insurance, a Christmas bonus and free product allowance.

Basic Function:

Conduct electrical engineering operations to maintain efficient operation of the Newbridge site. Provide electrical support to the bottling lines. Operate in a manner consistent with company culture, objectives, practices, and policies. Provide operational direction, training and consistency to Bottling Operators to enhance productivity, quality, safety, environmental, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Safety / Production / Quality / Environmental :

  • Drive safety initiatives, ensuring that safe working conditions exist and that all programs and policies are effectively implemented and practiced.

  • Schedule and undertake periodic maintenance on all electrical equipment, components, and installations.

  • Provide prompt response to electrical breakdowns, and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

  • Ensures reliability and consistency of site electrical infrastructure and equipment, governmental compliance, employee safety, and environmental impact.

  • Ensures efficient operation to produce high quality work within the prescribed standard operating procedures for safety, quality, cost, environmental, and compliance.

  • Has a strong focus on preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

  • Responsible for weekly fire system and emergency lighting checks.

  • Ensure compliance with BF quality policies, standards, and systems.

Mentorship / Planning / Administration :

  • Supervising electrical system installations and provides technical expertise to contractors when required.

  • Supports accurate and timely documentation reporting and EMAINT administration.

  • Responsible for monitoring electrical stock levels for all site maintenance.

Must Requirements:

  • Demonstrated electrical understanding of plant machinery and equipment, continuous improvement methodologies, as well as quality, safety and environmental practices.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills. Ability to build and sustain excellent business relationships internally and externally.

  • Ability to diagnose electrical issues and problem solve solutions to increase operational efficiencies and cost control.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience within a bottling environment.

  • 18th Edition City & Guilds 2382-22.

  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship Scheme / City & Guilds 2360 or NVQ Level 3.

  • CompEx (Ex 01-04).

  • Experience of PLC Controls and Automation Skills .
