Brown-Forman Market Manager, Wine Brands - Northern California in San Jose, California

You Can Look Forward To:

Activate the brand-building models for B-F’s wine portfolio (Korbel Champagne, Korbel Brandy, and Sonoma-Cutrer) in the assigned marketplace and with a particular focus on the consumer.

What You Can Expect:

Acts as a dedicated brand resource in assigned territory, ensuring maximum interaction of brands and brand messages with target consumers.

Ensures brand programming is properly executed through the territory team and the key account leads.

Taking strategic & tactical direction from the Wine Division Manager and brand teams.

Additionally, this position is the primary contact for brand expertise/training at the distributor and key account level. Also champions the brands as the interface with key influencers.

Plans, executes and/or supervises branded consumer events.

Supports otherwise-unsupported consumer segments (e.g. alternative lifestyle), and under-resourced brand opportunities.

Champions channel opportunities and event efforts by building lasting relationships with

targeted accounts, primarily off-premise for the Korbel brands and on-premise for

Sonoma-Cutrer. (All channels)

Acts as a key source of trade and influencer education.

Acts as spokesperson for local PR and media activity as directed.

Represents homeplaces in the local market, and serves as host when their local market team schedules visits to the brands’ homeplaces.

Is the source for consumer/channel/competitive insights; feeds local market intelligence up through the organization.

Responsible for managing the Estates Group channel at the distributor

Manages and delivers the TPS reviews each Tertile developing specific depletion, distribution & WPOP goals.

Develops and Manages the Club Grand Cru program for the Estates Group

% of Time Allocated to Key Responsibilities:

Consumer interaction and events - 20%

Portfolio development in Lighthouse/key accounts across all channels: 20%

Wine and brand training, including serving as divisional resource: 20%

Program planning and evaluation: 40%

What You Can Expect:

Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent);

Experience: Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years sales experience (Beverage Alcohol Industry preferred) or 5-7 years sales experience (Beverage Alcohol Industry preferred).

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong presentation skills including experience developing Powerpoint presentations.

Excellent implementation/tactical skills.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all members of extended sales and brand teams.

Resourceful; understands how to get things done by leveraging resources from a wide range of sources.

Sound financial skills and experience managing a budget.

Pay:

The range of pay for the role is $108,750 to $120,000 , plus a 25% bonus.

The base salary will be $87k -$96k, paid semi-monthly; plus the cost of labor allowance equal to 25% of the base salary will be paid monthly.

The 25% bonus will be calculated off the base pay and cost of labor allowance and will be paid annually contingent on performance of the company and individual.

NOTE: Base salary range depends on a combination of job-related factors to include candidate skills and experience.
