Brown-Forman is one of the leading international spirits companies, with a portfolio of premium and super-premium spirits brands, such as Jack Daniel’s, Woodford Reserve, The GlenDronach, Benriach, Glenglassaugh, Herradura, el Jimador, Chambord, Gin Mare, and Diplomático Rum. Brown-Forman started its own distribution in Japan in April 2024 and has been appointed the exclusive distributor for William Grant & Sons (WG&S) full portfolio in Japan, effective January 1, 2025. WG&S portfolio includes Glenfiddich, The Balvenie, Monkey Shoulder, Grant’s, Tullamore Dew, and Hendrick’s Gin.
This role works closely with the IMC Manager and the Scotch Brand teams to develop and execute an integrated marketing communications plan for each brand in collaboration with other internal stakeholders and external agency partners.
With the supports of IMC manager, IMC specialist leads and drives:
Co-developing and implementing IMC & PR plans for each scotch brand according to the brand plans
Project management of the IMC & PR initiatives
Communications content management and optimization on paid/owned/earned media
Effective and efficient practices by implementing the IMC global guidelines and measurement framework of performance
Data-driven analysis and evaluation from media reports and other available data via the tools the global Center of Excellence(CoE) provided
What You Can Expect
Supports and influences strategic IMC & PR planning:
Collaborate closely with the IMC Manager and Scotch Brand teams as a strategic thought partner
Develop IMC & PR plans in line with the brand plans with internal stakeholders
Leads IMC & PR plan implementation and project management:
Drive the execution planning for scotch brand media campaign, PR and social activation, and the implementation
Campaign and program execution, weekly report tracking, analysis and optimization
Manage implementation of IMC global tools and guidelines such as media principles & playbook, test & learn planning and new measurement framework of campaign evaluation
Analyze and evaluate the performance of executions to learn for future planning with supporting documentation
Communications Content Management:
Become a guardian in operational management of every communications content to enhance the overall quality, consistency and performance
Identify any gaps in the global and local assets and work with the local marketing and sales teams to close gaps at market level
Work with creative, media and PR agencies and the local brand, trade marketing and advocacy teams to develop the brand's social content for advertising and organic posts and supervise the operational executions
Incorporate creative testing & content optimisation (versioning) as part of the creative development process
Maintain the e-commerce digital shelf and the brand site for content updates
Subject communication contents to the legal and compliance review and ensure the clearance is completed prior to go-live
Data Analysis to Increase Effectiveness & Efficiency of IMC:
Be familiar with the global IMC measurement framework and the operation system to integrate into the current ways of working with the agencies
Lead analysis from the dashboards & data to understand how brand content is being used and where IMC $ are being invested
Identify & lead (with CoE /agency support) upfront opportunities for deploying content optimization across campaigns based on key questions or hypothesis
Build “test and learn” plan across the portfolio to continually improve our understanding of the best channel and content to drive the best results relative to brand strategy & campaign objectives
Utilize the global CoE tools and metrics such as social listening, search metrics and competitive data to analyze data and find crucial insights
Monitor and analyzes category & competitive dynamics; media, PR and social activities and its effectiveness to course correct and improve strategies & plans
Prepare regular IMC performance report and facilitate the review meetings, and support documentation of wider marketing situation analysis in quarterly basis
What You Bring to the Table
3+ years of experience in marketing communications
Experience at client and/or agency side in PR & digital marketing
Demonstrated multiple projects and IMC project management skills
Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
Excellent command of English and Japanese
Strong verbal and written communication style to communicate with all levels of management
Ability to influence non-direct reports and working with different functional teams in the market and globally
Ability to respond quickly to day-to-day campaign performance to optimize for the best result
Analytical Skills: working with data and analytics tools
Innovative and resourceful: digital savvy with the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties
What Makes You Unique
Experience marketing for FMCG, luxury goods, beverages, or emotional lifestyle/image brands; prior experience with premium & super-premium international spirits
PR and/or eCommerce expert
Passion for the brands and appreciation of craftsmanship and understanding of brand storytelling
