Brown-Forman Woodford Reserve Bar Lead in Versailles, Kentucky

Job Description: Bar Lead at Woodford Reserve Distillery is responsible for the day to day supervision of our cocktail experience located at both our Visitor and Welcome Center. Bar Lead will be part of the Woodford Reserve homeplace team and will report directly to the Woodford Reserve Distillery Bar Manager

Bar Lead Responsibilities:

  • working with the Bar Manager to successfully complete periodic inventory counts

  • assisting with product par levels and ordering

  • t raining and supervision of staff, specifically toward providing excellent service to guests

  • e nforcing quality and safety controls with WRD policies, including a particular emphasis on B-F Responsibility initiatives

  • planning and executing promotional events

  • maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for guests visiting the Woodford Reserve Distillery cocktail experience

  • assisting in the creation, implementation and execution of the seasonal cocktail menus and limited promotional cocktail offerings

  • bar staff education training of the Woodford Reserve products and brand training

  • ability to host guests in a guided tasting of Woodford Reserve products, as needed

  • coordinating preparation of supplies, garnish, etc.

  • assisting with set up and break down of bar and cash drawer over multiple locations

  • responsible for music and setting surround cocktail experience

  • create and maintain SOP for daily operations of the Woodford Reserve Distillery cocktail experience

  • supporting the overall Woodford Reserve Distillery experience, as needed

Daily Duties:

  • responsible for the opening bar, daily preparation, stocking, etc.

  • stationed at the bar during operational hours

  • maintaining a clean and presentable bar area at all times

  • preparation for events, as needed

  • managing transactions in the bar area (POS training and Lightspeed Restaurant Management)

  • ensuring safe and responsible service in bar area, maintaining a seamlessly alignment with B-F Responsibility initiatives

  • attending/supporting/working specialized events, as needed

  • maintaining par levels of inventory for alcoholic, non-alcoholic, culinary, equipment and ice items

  • cleaning/closing of the bar area at end of operational hours

  • financial reporting and inventory reconciliation of whiskey products

  • daily oversight of cash handling, as applicable

Bar Lead Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • restaurant/bar management experience

  • strong understanding of business management and accounting principles

  • proficient computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills

  • exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • ability to diffuse situations and resolve conflict in a decidedly kind, hospitable manner

  • willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources

  • decisiveness

  • ability to walk, stand, and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast-paced environment

  • creativity with cocktails, efficiency and pragmatism
